Brick Veneer and Shelving

This residential work was done for jewelry designer, Pamela Love. Brick veneers cut from salvaged, used bricks were added to the wall before the shelving system was installed. The shelves are made from reclaimed old-growth joists purchased at Build it Green.

Samantha Pleet Pop-Up Shop - Urban Outfitters

The design of the environment and fixtures in this pop-up shop was the result of collaborations with Samantha and Patrick Pleet. The work was completed over the course of 12 days and explored the relationship between the permanence of classical architecture and temporary nature of an intentionally short-lived retail space.

Note the patterned floor was created with black and white duct tape.

Found Window and Lighting Installation - Urban Outfitters

This installation was created to fill an otherwise unusable space on a mezzanine. It was constructed from 2x4 frames filled with found windows and plywood panels. Paint was added to unify the materials and conceal the light source while maintaining some translucency.

The size of the structure is roughly 15'W x 6'D x 8'H.

Book Table - Urban Outfitters

Sneaker Display and Lounge Furniture - Urban Outfitters

Note the benches were made by re-purposing found tables and constructing plywood bases to allow for proper seating height and added strength.

Scrap Wood Slats - Urban Outfitters

These slat installations were created from re-purposed tabletops and scrap plywood, OSB and 1x2s.

Modular Fixture System - Urban Outfitters

This fixture system was developed to solve several problems within an old, small Urban Outfitters store. The interchangeable pieces were designed and built to allow for flexibility of aesthetic and purpose. Tabletops are platforms, shelving components stack and stand freely.

Window Installation - Canvas Study - Urban Outfitters

This installation used re-purposed plywood cubes and canvas drop cloths. The canvas was manipulated in several ways to create different textures, volumes and graphic qualities.

Graphics Studies - Urban Outfitters

These graphics projects were completed at the Urban Outfitters Home Office in Philadelphia. The black and white images applied to the large panels represent a process of taking and printing a photo, then physically placing the print on the original subject and taking a new photo. The large image within an image was then tiled together from many 11x17 prints allowing for all the work to be accomplished on-site with accessible materials.

Mirrors and Frames - Urban Outfitters

These window installations were completed as a part of the Urban Outiftters "prototype" process whereby the work completed in one store is photographed and distributed as company direction to all stores.

Note the logo screen-printed (upside-down and backwards) on the floor and reflected at the correct height in the orange-bordered mirror.

Also note the cable used to support the large frames also serves as a structure to suspend the graphic and scrap wood panels.

Window Frames, Graphics and Lighting - Urban Outfitters

These projects were completed at Urban Outfitters store openings in Montreal and Brooklyn. The "windows" are primarily 2x4 frames with 1x2 emollient. The Montreal installation also includes found windows.
